CCIA’s “Don’t Break What Works” Campaign Issues Statement on Judiciary Committee Manager’s Amendment Released Today

Says amendment to S. 2992 “does not take any serious steps” to solve bill’s underlying issues

Washington, D.C. (01/19/2022) – Ahead of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s markup of S. 2992 scheduled for tomorrow, CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works campaign issued the following statement on the manager’s amendment to the American Choice and Innovation Act (S. 2992) that was released today:

“The senators’ amendment concedes the major weaknesses of the legislation, but does not take any serious steps to solve them. The committee has heard the criticism, but failed to address the problems. This manager’s amendment does nothing to change the fact that this legislation will break some of America’s favorite products and services,” said Chandler Smith Costello, a spokeswoman for the Don’t Break What Works campaign.

The Don’t Break What Works campaign is powered by the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA).
