CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works Campaign Releases Statement on the Senate Judiciary Committee Passage of S. 2992

Washington, D.C. (01/20/2022) – After Senate Judiciary Committee passage of the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, S. 2992, CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works campaign released the following statement:

“Today’s rushed vote failed to address any of the major concerns raised by bipartisan members of the Judiciary Committee. Senators Klobuchar and Durbin all but acknowledged that more scrutiny — including an actual hearing on the bill — would only weaken support for the bill. It’s telling that many senators who voted for the bill also said that major changes would need to be made in order for their continued support.

“The full Senate should reject this legislation since it would undermine our nation’s security and competitiveness, and break some of Americans’ favorite products and services,” said Chandler Smith Costello, Don’t Break What Works spokeswoman.
