DOJ’s Remedies in the Google Search Case Prioritize Competitors Over Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. (4/30/2025) – The Don’t Break What Works campaign released a statement following Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s testimony during the Google Search remedy trial, which offered a stark contrast to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) arguments that threaten to break the digital products and services consumers love to the benefit of Google’s business competitors:

“Sundar Pichai testified today about the innovation and inventions Google has created over the years – from AI technology that can help parents care for a sick child at the touch of a button to self-driving Waymo cars – a direct contrast to the DOJ’s proposed remedies that would benefit Google’s competitors to the detriment of consumers,” said Kate Brown, a spokeswoman for the Don’t Break What Works campaign.

The government’s remedies threaten to break Google Search, ironically harming the billions of consumers worldwide who love and prefer to use it,” she continued
