Don’t Break What Works Campaign Releases Statement as the Trial for FTC v. Amazon Begins

Washington, D.C. (09/22/2025) – The Don’t Break What Works campaign released the following statement as the trial for the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) lawsuit against Amazon begins:

“The FTC’s lawsuit against Amazon Prime is just the latest example of the government targeting one of America’s most successful and innovative companies to the detriment of consumers. Millions of Americans love and trust features offered by Amazon Prime, a service that is easier to both enroll in and cancel than it is to file feedback with the FTC. Weakening Prime would hurt competition and innovation across the dynamic retail sector and risk higher costs, and fewer benefits.” said Jim Mantyh, a spokesperson for the Don’t Break What Works campaign

The Don’t Break What Works campaign has championed the products and services that benefit American consumers and pushed back on harmful policies designed to target a few American companies, to the detriment of American consumers.
