CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works Campaign Releases Statement on Rushed Senate Judiciary Mark Up

Washington, D.C. (01/14/2022) – After the Senate Judiciary Committee announced that it is rushing to mark up the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, S. 2992, as soon as next week, CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works campaign released the following statement:

“The committee is rushing legislation that could upend the way Americans use things like Amazon Prime and Google Search. The stakes here could not be higher: This legislation would arbitrarily disadvantage some of the most successful companies in America, opening the door for Chinese competitors to continue their ascent,” said Chandler Smith Costello, a spokeswoman for CCIA’s Don’t Break What Works campaign.

“The Senate Judiciary Committee needs to fully consider the impact this legislation would have on the tools that consumers love and small businesses use every day to reach customers, build trust, and drive growth.”

The Don’t Break What Works campaign is powered by the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA).
