Don’t Break What Works Campaign on President Biden’s State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. 02/07/2023 – Ahead of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, CCIA’s “Don’t Break What Works” campaign released the following statement:

“As President Biden prepares to address the nation this evening, our nation’s top foreign adversaries are posing significant national security challenges, businesses small and large remain wary of a possible recession, and high costs continue to cut into the budgets of American families,” said Chandler Smith Costello, a spokeswoman for the Don’t Break What Works campaign.

“Despite that, reporting suggests the President may use this evening’s State of the Union speech to target some of our country’s leading companies whose products and services are extremely popular with American consumers, who are critical partners for national and cyber security, and who are significant contributors to our nation’s economy. These same companies also offer digital services that provide a deflationary effect amid record inflation and help keep costs low for families and small businesses trying to make ends meet.

“Rather than singling out America’s most innovative companies, we encourage President Biden to focus on his solutions to the most pressing challenges facing American consumers, families, and businesses.”
